First and foremost, I have to thank Tatie (Jen from Tater Tots and Jello) for her Awesome burlap pillows post. I got motivated to make these pillows because of her post. And I am beyond impressed with myself!
Daschund Pillow
I sketched a silhouette of a doxie onto paper, pinned the stencil to the fabric and then cut our each piece (Head, ear, nose.) Once I finished, I pinned the fabric pieces to "stitch witch" and cut around the fabric so that I could iron them on. I was able to stitch/ applique on the fabric to secure. Next I pinned and sewed the ball trim on two sided of the painter's canvas. I placed the back on and left an opening for stuffing. The only thing left if to sew the upper left corner closed. (I was too excited to finish before I took the pix.
Union Jack and Queen Pillow
I used the same process for these that I used with the Daschund pillow with the exception of the the queen's silouhette. It was a bit intricate for my level of sewing so I just ironed it on with "no-sew stitch witch." also, I added a pearl brad to give the queen some bling. Rather than using painter's canvas. I used burlap on the union jack. It snagged in the sewing machine three times...Painter's canvas is the way to go....it looks like burlap but won't snag.
Vogue Pillow
Definitely an ode to Tatie
